Head for the BPI (Bibliothèque publique d'information) at the Centre Pompidou, which is once again organizing Press Start, the festival for video game enthusiasts. Conferences, games, workshops, concerts: we're off to enjoy this free videogame festival, organized from September 25 to 30, 2024.
A special theme is chosen for each edition. After revival in 2017, emotions in 2018, cinema in 2019, post-apocalyptic in 2020, video game bestiary in 2021, music in 2022 and sport in 2023, it's time for FEAR! We explore horrific video games through their increasingly immersive aesthetics, design, music and staging. From Resident Evil to Silent Hill to The Last of us, these must-have games have become so popular that they've been adapted into series or movies.
During the festival, don't miss round-table discussions, a screening of Silent Hill presented by Shadowzet with commentary by Demoiselle D'horreur, Taous Merakchi and Damien Mecheri, a live recording of the Twitch show"Les Nouilles rampantes", game design, cosplay and special effects make-up workshops, and immersive virtual reality experiences.
And what would a video game festival be without games to try out? As always, Press Start is the perfect opportunity to discover independent, experimental and mainstream games, alone or in teams, on PC or console. Workshops are also on offer to take a behind-the-scenes look at the world of video games, and find out how the games we love so much are made. Free, friendly and open to all: Press Start is the ideal place to live out your passion and share it with friends and family! Get involved and play!
