Fortnite back in the eSport arena! Epic Games announced this Wednesday, January 11, 2023, the return of the FNCS, the Fortnite Champion Series Roadmap, eSport competitions around the successful Battle Royal, from February 2, 2023, with a global championship in Copenhagen, Denmark. The prize is a $10 million cash prize!
A championship that is articulated this time in "Major", allowing to qualify for the event in person. And for the first time, the FNCS offers a new format, with the possibility to participate in duos. The top 40 duos with the most cumulative points on the series leaderboard will qualify for the FNCS Major 1 Grand Finals, to be held in March 2023. At the conclusion of the Major, the duos will have the opportunity to share a portion of the prize pool, up to $2 million.
In total, three Majors are planned, plus a catch-up Major. But beware: not everyone can participate in Major 1! To do so, you must have reached the Elite division in Chapter 4 Season 1. During this Major, the score of the weekly sessions, from Wednesday to Friday, will be combined, all for five weeks. At the conclusion of the Friday session, the top 50 duos from each region will qualify for the weekly final... And so on for the Majors 2 and 3, until the global FNCS championship. The live final will take place at the end of 2023.
