Our test of the Gentleman Burglar escape game at Gamescape :
A room that the editors were able to test. For an hour, we were sent on a mission by the Countess of Cagliostro to recover a mystical document belonging to her and stolen by the most famous thief of the time, Arsène Lupin! It's a highly immersive experience, even in its own right, with the sets faithfully reproducing the period (it's 1904).
Although the room is small in size (we really recommend a team of 4, as more might make it a bit cramped), the escape game doesn't fall short of the mark, with numerous puzzles of varying difficulty, but always well thought-out. Without spoiler, there are also a number of wow effects to immerse you even further.
As for the riddles, the mechanics aren't necessarily straightforward at first glance, but once you've got the whole picture, everything falls into place, and solving the riddles becomes much simpler. Make sure you look everywhere, especially in the obvious spaces that we tend to forget or ignore, because that's where the missing piece often lies. Many of the puzzles will require you to be logical. So don't worry, the solution is always simpler than you might think.
At the end, once you've finished the room, you'll be presented with an additional riddle, to earn you bonus points (you earn points by playing the room, and every minute you save by exiting gives you extra points). A great idea and a way to extend the experience. In any case, we loved it! Now all you have to do is try your luck.
So, are you up for the challenge?
