In the fairytale world of Runeterra, a new chapter opens with Bandle Tale! The game developed by Riot Games, from the League of Legend universe, has been waiting for you since February 21, 2024 on PC and Nintendo Switch. An adventure that invites players to take on the role of a shy yordle from Maille, a comfortable yet isolated island, with an overflowing passion for knitting.
As 101 years of apprenticeship come to an end, a quest of discovery is required to explore what lies beyond Bandle's mystical portals. But when a party turns catastrophic, causing the portals to collapse and spreading chaos, the mission to restore harmony falls to you. In Bandle Tale, immerse yourself in an epic quest to rebuild bonds, restore magical islands and orchestrate memorable festivities to strengthen the ranks of this shattered community.
The spirit of Bandle Tale is embodied by the yordles, those charming, fluffy beings. Native to Bandle City, these magical, eccentric creatures are the real stars of this adventure. Known for their cheerful nature and intrinsic need for social bonding, yordles remind us of the importance of conviviality and friendship.
In Bandle Tale, each player contributes to the yordles' development by organizing parties, repairing islands and actively participating in community life. The gaming experience is designed to be relaxing and immersive, offering the perfect escape to unwind after a long day or to enjoy leisure moments scattered throughout the day.
Our Bandle Tale review:
So, what is this League of Legends "spin-off" worth? Bandle Tale has plenty to surprise, and in a very positive way. As for the story, it's a cute one: after a party gone wrong that sent yordles all over the archipelago, you'll have to travel and find your missing friend, while solving a number of problems encountered by the people you meet. A rather inclusive software, even offering the possibility of creating your own non-binary yordle. The storylines are dense, and there's plenty to do on the various islands... It's sure to provide hours of gameplay.
Graphically speaking, Bandle Tale stands out for its unique aesthetic, combining a charming pixelated style with adorable characters that add to the smoothness of the experience. It reminds us of many video games released years (not to say decades) ago, all set in an ultra-colorful world. In short, very pretty, although it may not appeal to everyone.
The gameplay is also particularly interesting. The game offers various "game modes" within the game, making for a particularly heterogeneous, diverse and dynamic experience. You can be a chef in Cooking Mamma mode, a party organizer or a farmer, as many mobile games offer... Players are invited to explore, harvest and create in this magical world, using a variety of resources such as seeds, fish and gadgets to concoct amazing inventions and organize unforgettable parties. There's plenty of variety and never a dull moment... The game's modes are also interwoven with the story, making for a very complete experience.
Another highlight is the game's ability to revolutionize the way skill trees work. You need to collect a kind of magical energy to fill spheres, which you'll need to learn abilities. It's well thought-out, and allows you to learn skills on a regular basis, or even quickly.
In short, it's a lovely game, and a particularly addictive one too, which will keep many of you happy.
Each of Bandle's islands hides its own secrets and resources, encouraging players to explore and discover. So Bandle Tales is not just a game, it's also an invitation to be part of a vibrant community, to contribute to the happiness of the yordles and discover the hidden wonders of Runeterra. So grab your keyboards and Joy-Cons!
