Do you like new experiences? Then here's one that's sure to please. We set off to discover theimmersive Tour Eiffel Effect, inaugurated on July 9. It all takes place on the second floor of the Eiffel Tower. All you need to do is buy a ticket and climb to the top of the monument.
You stop at the first landing, where you can reserve your slot for the experience, which lasts around 20 minutes, including the briefing. Please note that there are no online reservations; everything is done on site at the official boutique on the 1st floor. For the good plan and to celebrate the launch of the experience, access to the Tour Eiffel Effect experience is free for 13 days, from July 10 to 22, 2024.
The idea," says the director of the Société d'Exploitation, "is to attract not only tourists (without language, the game is accessible to all audiences, French or foreign), but also Parisians, Parisians and young people. It's also the desire to offer a different way of visiting this emblematic site, one that's more experiential, more immersive and, consequently, more fun.
Created in partnership with Lagardère & Arteum (LxA) and Mira, a startup specializing in hyper-realistic experiential metavers, this adventure revolutionizes perspectives by merging virtual reality and entertainment.
When you arrive at the boarding lounge, you can hear the previous players exclaiming"It's amazing" or "It's incredible". It's the smell of a great discovery. As you enter the room, you discover a screen on which game instructions are projected, dots on the floor to position yourself, a locker to store your belongings and a wall on which VR headsets are arranged.
This is where the briefing begins, with someone explaining that we're to form teams of 2 to 4 people. You can either bring your own team, or put one together on the spot. What's the mission? No, we're not saving the world! But we do have to find the lost fragments of the Eiffel Tower in order to rebuild it completely, and that's no mean feat! We explain how the joysticks work, what you have to do, how to move around - in short, everything you need to know to play. You can help each other, interact with each other. Of course, you need to collect as many fragments as possible, and each player scores points to reach the top of the podium. We're told that's not the point, but it's always good for the personal ego.
In terms of feel, you really get the impression of being on the Eiffel Tower and its various floors. Particularly when you get close to the edges, it's not long before you're flying backwards. Once you've managed to reconstruct everything, the highlight of the show is the night flight around the Eiffel Tower. Imagine yourself, on the evening of July 14th, surrounded by fireworks and hot-air balloons, flying over the Eiffel Tower at tree level or overlooking it - it's pretty fantastic to experience. We admit it took us 3 tries before we jumped into the void, but what a flight!
If you're looking for an exclusive experience, here's a good deal you won't want to miss. Free for the first few days from July 10 to 22, the experience will then cost (excluding ticket prices) €15 for adults and €12 for children under 12. It will be €9 for PRMs. Open Monday to Sunday from 11:00 to 20:00, with last admission at 19:30.
