Flower lovers, Paris has several perfectly charming flower markets. The magnificent flower market on the Île de la Cité, place Louis Lépine, offers a huge variety of flowers, plants and shrubs, as well as excellent advice from the many florists who work on the site. Open daily from 8am to 7.30pm.
Another flower market in Paris is located on Place de la Madeleine, not far from the church. Prior to 1842, the Place de la Madeleine was an old flower market. Open Monday to Saturday, 8am to 8.30pm.
Finally, if these two markets haven't quite lived up to your expectations, there's a third flower market on the Place des Ternes boulevard in the 17th arrondissement. A pretty little market, frequented by locals, where you'll find mainly cut flowers to embellish your apartments. Open Tuesday to Sunday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Paris has three flea markets: the Porte de Vanves flea market in the 14th arrondissement, open Saturdays and Sundays from 7.30am to 2.30pm; the Saint-Ouen-Clignancourt flea market in the 18th arrondissement, open Mondays from 11am to 5pm, Fridays from 8am to 12pm and weekends from 10am to 6pm; and the Porte de Montreuil flea market in the 20th arrondissement, open Saturdays, Sundays and Mondays from 8am to 6.30pm.
The Vanves and Saint-Ouen-Clignancourt markets tend to focus on vintage antiques: art deco furniture, lighting, silverware, antique jewelry, phonographs, coins and paintings. The one at Porte de Montreuil, on the other hand, is simpler. In its enormous bric-a-brac, you'll find old and new, knick-knacks, spare parts and second-hand goods, for even the smallest purse.
