Over 10,000 racers are expected for La Grande Course du Grand Paris Express, eco-friendly, solidarity-based and popular 10km & semi-marathon races on April 19, 2020 to bring everyone together!
For its fourth edition, the Grande Course du Grand Paris Express provides a second race: half a marathon leaving from the Parc du Tremblay in Champigny-sur-Marne. As for the 10km race leaving from the place de la République in Paris, all participants have the chance to finish their race on the legendary track of the Stade de France. This new and never-seen-before route will enable you to go from Val de Marne to Seine-Saint-Denis via Paris.
Sustainable development is the keystone of the Grande Course du Grand Paris Express. Each step of the organization is questioned to deliver an event with a low ecological impact but a strong social impact.
Among the many initiatives set up since its creation, the race guarantees supplies free from plastic bottles but including organic and local produces provided by partners Eau de Paris and Bio C’est Bon. Symbol of the race’s commitment to protect the environment, the recycled wooden medal given to all finishers and made in France. But surprise, it also includes sunflower seeds to plant.
Because sport is a fantastic social inclusion vector, bibs are given to refugees. History will remember that the winner of the first edition was a political refugee! It was meant to be!
Last but not least, the Grande Course du Grand Paris Express aims at being popular and open to all, providing affordable rates (from €25). The 1km race is hosted for children (€8) on the track of the Stade de France. And the access to bleachers is free of charge so that friends and families can enjoy the race and greet their champions! In other words, the occasion to work out and tell your children about the social and environmental issues… Let’s get our bib, friends, shall we?
