Like last year, the Canopée des Halles is set to vibrate to the sound of hip-hop and basketballs on Parisian playgrounds! The free Playin'Paris event, organized by the cultural center La Place, is back for a third edition that combines sport, music and dance, from May 22 to 26, 2024. On the program: live music, 3x3 basketball matches, international DJ contest, breaking battles and graffiti exhibition-performance, right in the heart of the capital!
Qualifying tournaments for 3×3 basketball will take place in April on 4 Paris playgrounds : on April 13 at Gymnase Curial, on April 14 at Gymnase Philippe Auguste, on April 20 at Gymnase Manouchian and on April 21 at Gymnase Chapelle International, with major players from the Paris region. International teams are invited to the final phase at Les Halles on May 25, with a German team and an American team from Los Angeles.
Outdoor concerts are free and open to all, but others will cost between 14 and 18 euros. Some 40 French rap artists have been invited, including S.Pri Noir, B.B. Jacques, Leys, Tuerie, Ocevne, Josué, Squidji, Robdbloc, Aketo, DJ Babu, DJ Pone, Ekloz, Adès The Planet, Sixtion and Okis. This year, Playin'Paris also hosts one of the world's most renowned breakdance competitions, the"FUJIFILM INSTAX Undisputed Masters", with solo battles for men and women, and team battles on May 24.
Labeled a Cultural Olympiad and Olympic Forms, this summer sports and cultural highlight aims to accompany young athletes and artists all the way to the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
