The end of the women's soccer championship season is going to be unlike any other, as this year the top teams will be decided in a Final 4- a major first! And the first match of these exceptional semi-finals has been announced: Paris-Saint-Germain will once again face Paris FC, in a derby for the title, on May 11, 2024, in the heart of the Parc des Princes, at 9pm.
After a French Cup victory over Fleury, but a Champions League defeat by Olympique Lyonnais, who are the big losers in this new format for the 2023-2024 season? With over 60 points on the board, the Lyonnais are leading the championship and would normally win it. But with these new play-offs, nothing is yet certain! Although their opponents are not yet known, as the regular season ends on May 8 with Matchday 22, they could find themselves up against Fleury 91 or Stade de Reims, in fourth place.
These semi-finals are knockout rounds, and the final and third-place play-offs will have to wait until May 17, 2024, to find out which team has won the championship. The two finalists and the winner of the third-place play-off will qualify for the next edition of the Women's Champions League.
