Want to have your portrait taken? Come and enjoy a silver photo shoot, and learn from A to Z the workings of this particular technique, from the negatives to the print, in the heart of the historic Studio Boissière.

For a change from digital photography, why not try film photography? Many photographers appreciate this technique, which requires the exposure of a film sensitive to light, its development and its printing on paper. It gives grain to the photograph, and a slightly aged and nostalgic aspect that takes us back in time. The Studio Boissière and its darkroom, in Montreuil, propose you a photo shooting and to learn more about film during a workshop.

In this historical studio, owned by the Kasparian family, the equipment is almost all vintage, and allows you to experience the silver process from A to Z, for four generations. In order to share with you some of this traditional know-how, the team invites you to pose in the shooting room, to develop the 24x36 negatives of your photos, to try your hand at printing them and to witness the chemistry of the silver process, in the red lights of the darkroom. An exceptional opportunity to see your portrait appear in real time, and to leave with your print!

Opened in Montreuil in 1951 by Varastrade Kasparian, one of the oldest photo studios in Seine-Saint-Denis is a real heritage place, which has seen many artists, including jazzmen: Louis Armstrong, John Coltrane, Duke Ellington ... Several creative workshops around photography are proposed, free for the inhabitants of the Boissière, between cyanotype, investigation from old photos and initiation to the argentic.
