Free mathematics course for high school girls during the April vacation and Master Class at the Institut Henri Poincaré

What's Les Lionnes? A math and computing course, 100% free of charge, including accommodation. From April 21 to 25, 20 high school girls, selected for their motivation and with a view to social diversity, will conduct research on open-ended problems in mathematics or computer science with scientists every morning. The afternoons will be devoted to fun, cultural and sporting activities, as well as inspiring encounters. NEW: you can make an appointment to meet by telephone, see below.

In April, Elles STEMent*! TheSéphora Berrebi association is organizing a number of exceptional events to encourage girls and young women to develop a taste for science, and to take up apprenticeships and studies in mathematics and IT.

*S.T.E.M.: Sciences, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics.

LES LIONNES is a mathematics and computer science course for 20 1st year high school students who have chosen the Mathematics or NSI speciality course, and possibly ^2nd and 12th year students. It takes place from April 21 to 25, 2025.

On the menu: a week entirely free of charge for participants, punctuated by a number of highlights combining scientific learning, in-depthguidance and moments of cohesion and sharing.

The mornings are reserved for "open problem" workshops supervised by scientists. Small groups work together to solve the problem. The results are presented in a plenary session on Friday afternoon.

The afternoons are devoted to cultural (opera, museum, cinema), scientific, recreational and sporting activities, as well as meetings with inspiring personalities to pass on the passion for a profession and stimulate vocations for the diversity of scientific and technical careers.

MASTER CLASS LYCÉENNES: on April 3, 1st and final year high school girls are invited to an exceptional day at the Institut Henri Poincaré. A festival of scientific activities awaits them: meetings with female researchers, a talk on relativity, workshops in small groups, speed meetings with women scientists, etc.

COLLEGIENNES MASTER CLASS: on April 29, based on the same principle as the Lycéennes Master Class, a meeting with middle-school girls from several schools in lle-de-France, focusing on mathematics and computer sciences.
