With France Montagnes at the helm, plunge into the heart of the French mountains from Ground Control, the festive venue next to the Gare de Lyon train station. Designed as a friendly, family-friendly event, it's thefree event not to be missed this weekend of November 17, 18 and 19, 2023. Put on your après-skis, your winter down jacket and your hat, and we'll be off to the mountains for the weekend, with your Navigo pass as our only passport!
What's on the agenda? You'll be able to ride a ski and snow groomer simulator, for an immersive experience lasting just a few minutes, as well as being introduced to a whole range of really fun sports. Bobsleigh, biathlon... ESF (Ecole Française du Ski) ski instructors will also be on hand, because what would a ski vacation be without ESF instructors? For families, the " boum des p'tits skieurs" awaits you on Sunday afternoon for a dancefloor party, followed by a mountain snack.
For those who like to party, there's a DJ set and live concerts every evening, to make you feel like you're at La Folie Douce, the famous party bars on the slopes. On the food front, Ground Control's food corners will be serving up comforting (and cheesy) mountain specialities all weekend long.
While the event is primarily intended to be festive, France Montagnes also aims to raise public awareness of the challenges facing the mountains and their future, and to promote more sustainable, environmentally-friendly tourism through film screenings.
