Damon Albarn keeps working on every front. After a come back with Gorillaz, the British artist is back this time with his British super-band, The Good, The Bad & The Queen.
Launched in 2006, this band created around Damon Albarn, Paul Simonon, Tony Allen and Simon Tong is back with a new album, “Merrie Land”. Produced by Tony Visconti (David Bowie, T.Rex…), this disc has been recorded in London and Wales.
While the United Kingdom is about to leave the European Union, “Merrie Land” is a farewell letter filled with questions, a string of observations and thoughts about what it means to be English in 2018.
In this new album, the band opens up to new horizons other than London by writing a beautiful and hopeful song to Great Britain today – a poorly understand Great Britain – and carried towards the future.
For the record, the very first album of The Good, The Bad & The Queen was released in 2007. Back in the days, the disc seduced many ears especially thanks to hits “Kingdom of Doom” and even “Herculean”.
Today, welcome new tracks such as “Merrie Land”:
