Japanese rock bands continue their invasion of Paris. While the Babymetal concert scheduled for December 2023 at theOlympia is sold out, another band from the land of the rising sun is also planning to occupy a famous Paris venue. Their name? Dir En Grey, who will be playing the Bataclan on Friday March 22 and Saturday March 23, 2024, after a four-year absence from the City of Light!
Unlike Babymetal, Dir en Grey was born before the year 2000. Formed in 1997, the band has 11 studio albums to its credit, most recently"Phalaris", released in 2022.
After a concert at L'Elysée Montmartre in February 2020, Dir En Grey announces its return to a Parisian stage for a new European tour. Entitled"FROM DEPRESSION TO ______", this new tour also includes dates in Warsaw, London and Berlin, with two different shows each time.
On March 22, 2024 in Paris, Kyô and his bandmates will play the opus"Withering to Death". Released on November 11, 2005, this is the Japanese metal band's fifth album. It includes the powerful tracks"The Final" and"Saku". On the following day, March 23, the Japanese band will showcase their 2008 album"Uroboros", released three years later. In this opus, which includes the singles"Dozing green" and"Glass Skin", Dir en Grey uses new instruments such as congas and the electric sitar.
Needless to say, Dir en Grey's two Paris concerts at Le Bataclan are sure to put a smile on the faces of the Japanese band's many fans. So, a word of advice: make sure you're there on March 22 and 23, 2024 in Paris (a 2-day Pass is on sale for the occasion), and don't miss the opening of ticket sales, with pre-sales on October 10 at 12 noon and general sales on Thursday October 12 at 12 noon.
