This is great news for all Pixies fans, as the 90's flagship band announces a new European tour. Having already taken over theOlympia in Paris on March 15 and 16, 2023, Black Francis and his bandmates are once again inviting you to the legendary Paris venue for not one, not two, but three concerts!
Mark your calendars: Pixies return to the Olympia on Monday 25, Tuesday 26 and Wednesday 27 March 2024. For this new tour of the Old Continent, which will also take in Dublin, London and Amsterdam, the band will be celebrating two landmark opuses from their discography, namely"Bossanova" and"Trompe Le Monde" (4AD/Beggars).
For the younger generation, we recall that the Pixies caused a sensation in the 90's with their successive albums:"Surfer Rosa" released in 1988,"Doolittle" released a year later,"Bossanova" in 1990 and the essential"Trompe le Monde" in 1991.
"Bossanova", the Pixies' third studio album, celebrated its 30th anniversary in 2020. With its surf and space rock influences, it includes the hits"Allison","Is She Weird" and"Dig For Fire".
For its part,"Trompe Le Monde" blew out its 30 candles in 2021. Marked by hits such as"Planet of Sound","Alec Eiffel","U-Mass" and"Letter to Memphis", this record adds a few power pop notes to the space rock already well asserted on the previous record.
To (re)discover live the tracks from these two cult Pixies albums, head to the Olympia on March 25, 26 and 27, 2024. Needless to say, Black Francis and his band are sure to set the legendary Parisian venue on Boulevard des Capucines alight, so don't miss out! Don't miss the box office opening on June 9 at 10am.
