As part of a weekend devoted to Iceland from November 8 to 10, 2019 at Paris Philharmonie, musician Ólafur Arnalds will perform on Sunday November 10, 2019 in the Grande Salle Pierre Boulez.

The success of Icelandic musician Ólafur Arnalds’ doesn’t need more proof. In line with composers Nils Frahm and Mac Richter, they have in common the fact they mix classic and electro music, delicately mixing piano and string instruments for always dreaming, moving and eerie results. On stage, Ólafur Arnalds’ music – who used to be a drummer in heavy metal and hardcore bands, it’s hard to believe – takes an almost cinematic dimension.

From November 8 to 10, 2019, Paris Philharmonie organizes a weekend devoted to Icelandic culture, one of the richest cultures in the world even though the country is small. On the menu, a concert by Amiina, a female quartet mixing folk and post-rock and even a concert around two Björk albums who’s the great priestess of the Iceland music.
On the occasion, it was obvious to invite Ólafur Arnalds as he’s becoming a lead art figure on his island and this since the release of Eulogy For Evolution in 2007, his first album.
