Troubles: the literary concert with Virginie Despentes, Béatrice Dalle and Casey at the Gaîté Lyrique

Here we go again! After a fine tribute to Pier Paolo Pasolini and the sensational show"Viril", directed by David Bobée and presented at Bobino in 2020, writer Virginie Despentes, actress Béatrice Dalle, rapper Casey and post-rock band Zëro are back on stage with a new creation combining music and literature. This time, the collective - which has expanded to include guitarist Varoujan (Condense, Peuple de l'Herbe) - unveils " Troubles " .

Already presented in the provinces in autumn 2023, notably in Toulouse, Bordeaux, Cahors and Nantes, the literary concert " Troubles " will be back in France in spring 2024, with performances announced in Clermont-Ferrand, Strasbourg and Bourges, during the Printemps de Bourges festival. In Paris, three exceptional performances are scheduled at the Gaîté Lyrique on Thursday May 16, Friday May 17 and Saturday May 18, 2024. And tickets are already on sale!

Described as " a musical dazibao around queer texts, which are fragments of poetry, or militant or philosophical essays ", the musical and literary show " Troubles " is likely to stir the emotions, as was already the case in 2020 with"Viril". This time around, the powerful, singular voices of Virginie Despentes, Béatrice Dalle and Casey will intertwine, featuring a series of texts by American Donna Haraway, Françoise d'Eaubonne, co-founder of the Women's Liberation Movement in 1968, Spanish transgender activist and writer Alana S. Portero, American author and activist Mikki Kendall, Paul Preciado and Pedro Lemebel. Voices and texts will mingle with music created especially for the occasion and played by the group Zëro and guitarist Varoujan.
