Week-end Chopin Contemporain 2024: free concerts at Médiathèque Yourcenar

Attention classical music lovers! This Friday, February 2 and Saturday, February 3, 2024, the 15th arrondissement of Paris hosts the new and 16th edition of the"Week-end Chopin Contemporain". On the program? No fewer than 6 free concerts at the Médiathèque Yourcenar.

This year, the musical event continues its transformation and asserts itself as a fully-fledged piano festival. It's an opportunity for music lovers to come and discover different repertoires, from Chopin's time to our own. Note that these concerts are free of charge, but only accessible by reservation, so don't delay in booking your tickets!

  • 6:30 pm and 7:45 pm: Le Carnaval des animaux / Saint-Saëns, played four-handed by Conservatoire students.

  • 1:30 pm to 2:30 pm: Carte blanche for Hector PARRA, contemporary Spanish neo-tonal composer: works by Chopin, Rachmaninov, Schumann and Stravinsky.
    
    
  • 2:30 pm to 4:00 pm: Concert in tribute to Geneviève Ibanez: works by Chopin, Ligeti, Fauré, Stravinsky and Merlet.
    
    
  • 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm: Chopin and contemporary concert.
    
    
  • 5:30 pm to 6:30 pm: Joutes du déchiffrage, a participatory event.

These concerts can be enjoyed free of charge on February 2 and 3, 2024, in the Auditorium of the Médiathèque Yourcenar on level -1 of the building.
