Calling all lovers of minimalist music! This autumn, the Philharmonie de Paris welcomes Max Richter and his Ensemble for a unique, not-to-be-missed concert on Saturday, November 16, 2024. In response to demand, an additional session is scheduled for 3 p.m. on the same day.

Max Richter concerts are all too rare in France. While the Fondation Louis Vuitton welcomed the German-British pianist, composer and arranger/producer on three occasions to coincide with the Mark Rothko exhibition, the Philharmonie de Paris has also decided to rectify the situation by opening its doors to the immense artist. The date is set for Saturday, November 16, 2024 at 8pm in the Grande salle Pierre Boulez, for a much-anticipated performance. And it's already sold out. So, in response to demand, Max Richter has announced a second performance scheduled for the same November 16, 2024, but at 3pm. Tickets will go on sale on June 6 at 12 noon.

For these two exceptional performances in Paris, Max Richter will be accompanied by a string quintet, and will take the opportunity to unveil his new album"In a Landscape" to Parisian audiences, as well as celebrating the 20th anniversary of the album"The Blue Notebooks".

Max Richter is renowned for his many sublime compositions, including " November ", " On the nature of daylight " and " Mercy ".

The post-minimalist artist is also responsible for a host of famous film scores, including those for " Waltz with Bashir ", " Mary Stuart, Queen of Scots " and " Ad Astra ", as well as the series " The Leftovers " and " L'Amie prodigieuse ".

This autumn, the pianist and composer takes over the beautiful Grande Salle Pierre Boulez on November 16, 2024 at 3 pm and 8 pm for two concerts that promise to be beautiful and dreamlike. Some of you may still remember his 2017 performance of "Sleep", an 8-hour piece to be listened to lying down!

These two Max Richter concerts at the Philharmonie de Paris are part of a special weekend dedicated to minimalist artists. After Max Richter on November 16, the beautiful Parisian venue nestled in the 19th arrondissement will welcome Vanessa Wagner for a piano recital the following day. On the same day, Salle Pierre Boulez will honor the works of Philip Glass with James McVinnie on organ and Maki Namekawa on piano.
