Manu Chao: a free listening session for his new album "Viva Tu" in Paris

17 years after his last studio album, Manu Chao signs his return with the release of "Viva Tu", in stores this September 20, 2024. For the impatient, the artist has announced free listening sessions scheduled for Wednesday September 18 and Thursday September 19 around the world. In Paris, the rendez-vous is at a record shop in the 11th arrondissement.

It's an album fans can't wait to get their hands on! This Friday, September 20, 2024, Manu Chao returns to the shops with the release of"Viva Tu". An album that is causing quite a stir, as it is the artist's first studio LP released since"La Radiolina" in 2007, 17 years ago.

Marked by the singles " Viva Tu " and " Sao Paulo Motoboy ", this new opus unveils a total of 13 new songs, written in French, Spanish, Portuguese and English.Viva Tu" also features two collaborations: the first with Laeti on the track " Tu Te Vas ", and the second with American Willie Nelson, on " Heaven's Bad Day ".

For the impatient, Manu Chao has announced a series of free listening sessions around this new opus, scheduled to take place in the four corners of the globe. From Lima to Montreal, via Buenos Aires, Sao Paulo, Berlin, Rome, Barcelona, London, Geneva, Zurich, Dallas and Tijuana... a total of 41 listening sessions are scheduled for Wednesday, September 18 and Thursday, September 19, 2024.

In France, the cities of Rennes and Paris will have the privilege of hosting these listening sessions. In Paris, head for Le Silence de la Rue record store in the 11th arrondissement (39 rue Faidherbe) for a sneak preview of Manu Chao's new album. However, we don't yet know the exact time of these free listening sessions.

It now remains to be seen whether a French tour will accompany the release of this album. In recent months, Manu Chao has played a few concerts in smaller venues, such as this September 17 at Le Kilowatt in Vitry-sur-Seine(sold out).

The Franco-Spanish singer and musician made his debut in 1987 with the legendary group La Mano Negra. In 1998, Manu Chao unveiled"Clandestino", his very first solo album, which went on to become a huge hit! This was followed by"Próxima Estación: Esperanza" in 2001,"Sibérie m'était contéee" in 2004 and"La Radiolina" in 2007. Now, 17 years later, Manu Chao is back in the spotlight with his new 5th opus,"Viva Tu", which many fans are now looking forward to discovering live.
