While some people take advantage of the month of February to escape to the mountains and hit the slopes, others prefer to stay in Paris and enjoy the joys of winter. There's no shortage of winter activities in the capital. There are, of course, new exhibitions, Valentine's Day, carnivals and Chandeleur, not to mention a host of sporting activities!
In February, the capital also plays host to a host of national and international artists. Rock, pop, metal, electro, rap, R&B, classical music, blues, jazz and French variety... They all have one and the same objective: to make live music resonate!
There's no shortage of venues in Paris to accommodate them. There are, of course, the largest and most impressive, such as the Paris La Défense Arena, to the west, and theAccor Arena, to the east. Other venues also feature live music, including the Zénith de Paris,Olympia, Philharmonie, Salle Pleyel, Trianon, Folies Bergère, Grand Rex andÉlysée Montmartre.
If you prefer more intimate venues, then opt for La Maroquinerie, La Cigale, Le Trabendo, La Gaîté Lyrique, La Boule Noire or Petit Bain and Cabaret Sauvage.
Over the past few months, a host of artists and bands have graced one of these venues. These include Linkin Park, Taylor Swift, Sum 41, Nick Cave, Lindsey Stirling, Alice Cooper, ZZ Top, Beth Gibbons, PJ Harvey and Shaka Ponk.
