Cyrano de Bergerac,Edmond Rostand's most famous character, continues to impress and surprise us. Over the years, he has been played by Jean-Paul Belmondo, Gérard Depardieu, Jacques Weber and Philippe Torreton.
Now it's time to discover the new version of this timeless story, directed by Bastien Ossart. Come to the Théâtre Lepic every Saturday at 4.30pm.
In this version, created in 2019 and first performed at Le Funambule Montmartre, the Théâtre Les Pieds Nus company revisits the story of Cyrano in its own way, changing the point of view: "Cyrano was 21, he danced, he moved more than he spoke, and despite his big nose, he was handsome". He is played by three alternating women. This unprecedented all-female cast is accompanied by an astonishing staging: the play is lit solely by candlelight, as in the period, in a commedia dell'arte atmosphere.
Cyrano, the new adaptation ofEdmond Rostand 's fabulous text, is on stage at the Théâtre Lepic until May 4, 2024.
