Les Gros Patinent Bien, an ingenious creation by Pierre Guillois and Olivier Martin-Salvan, invites you to an unparalleled theatrical adventure at La Pépinière Théâtre. The show begins on the plains of the Far North, where the protagonist, cursed by an accidentally captured mermaid, escapes his curse on skates, scooters and even a cardboard plane. His journey takes him across Scotland and south on the back of a mule, in search of love and adventure, while meeting a cast of colorful characters.
What sets Les Gros Patinent Bien apart is its unique approach to staging: an actor in a three-piece suit remains seated, while his swimsuit-clad sidekick animates the space with hundreds of cardboard pieces representing various elements of their journey. This explosion of wacky, ingenious ideas offers a theatrical experience that combines humor, poetry and a significant dose of madness, recalling the spirit of cartoons and Shakespearean epics.
The play was awarded the Molière for Best Public Theater Show in 2022, testifying to its critical and popular success.
