After a magnificent transition to film, Gilles Paris's novel Autobiographie d'une Courgette has now been adapted into a play. Pamela Ravassard and Garlan Le Martelot guide us through a captivating story, marked by luminous and musical moments.
Icare, also known as Courgette, a young boy with a troubled family life, is placed in a children's home. Along the way, he meets Simon, Ahmed and the mysterious Camille. He discovers a world where play and poetry are essential. They learn to build themselves, grow up and heal their wounds. Raymond, the gendarme, gradually becomes a father figure to Courgette, who himself rediscovers a taste for life.
The show has already been adapted into French sign language (LSF) by an actress and made accessible to all. This is a fine step towards inclusion, thanks to the meticulous adaptation of the original text, carried out in collaboration with the artistic team and the LSF actress, Julie Plantevin, while preserving the spirit of the staging.
The play Courgette promises an emotional experience that will delight audiences aged 9 and upwards in search of sweetness and poetry. It's a show that "feels good", and one that won't hesitate to deeply move the audience. Immerse yourself in this extraordinary theatrical production, a story of hope and resilience .
