For offbeat, instructive entertainment, the play "Chamonix" awaits you this December, in a space-time dimension that's a little bit special . It can be summed up, in no uncertain terms, as "the first eco-friendly science-fiction space operetta in the history of the performing arts". Above all, it's a work that takes the codes of the musical and twists them to address the subject of climate change.
At the heart of the play are characters and a world full of sensations as powerful as they are unknown... but they're not alone! Between total absurdity and leaden realism, Compagnie Les 26000's "Chamonix" asks the crucial question: "Should mankind be eradicated or not? For if humanity has "generated billions of idiots, Auschwitz and pantacourts", Les 26000 enumerate all the great contradictions, horrors and other objects of covetousness created by our civilization: it has also created love, music and cheese. And the company completes the piece with this fabulous summary: "In a word, (humanity) created Chamonix and its eighteen-hole golf course."
In short, "Chamonix" is a play to go and see, to laugh at, reflect on and, above all, think together about ecology, the future of humanity and the planet. All set to music, in this wacky, or rather "despacialized" show, to de-ango and why not look at the subject as it really is.
