Good plan alert! Urban art enthusiasts head to Fluctuart to discover the establishment's very first exhibition, Time Capsule, from June (date yet to be announced) to September 22, 2019. An installation by artist Swoon,"a pioneer and fighter for social rights", who expresses her ideas and heartfelt cries through various linoleum prints and other cut-outs.
The exhibition takes a closer look at the artist's first retrospective, The Canyon: 1999-2017, exhibited for the first time at CAC, the Contemporary Arts Center in Cincinnati, and is enriched by"works created during her 15-day residency at Fluctuart". The monograph is conceived as a chronological journey, tracing"his artistic and technical evolution" and conceived"as a single singular installation".
The tour begins with"Swoon's first impressions", his iconic works, and ends with his most recent works. The touring exhibition then moves on to Munich's MUCA,"a partner in the exhibition's creation". In all, 300m2 of space are used here to showcase a committed artist who never ceases to point the finger at social inequalities. And to better understand the artist's approach, specialized mediators fromICART (the school of cultural and art market management) are on hand every day from 12pm to 7pm, offering free, non-stop guided tours.
Visits and workshops for children are also organized around the artist's work and his exhibition, to introduce them to art and artistic expression. In short, an opportunity to discover urban art in a whole new light. Shall we go?
Please note that it's been over 4 years since our last visit, so the place and experience may have changed.
