Coronavirus: Museums and monuments shut down in Paris

Following declarations from President Emmanuel Macron on Wednesday October 28, 2020, museums and monuments in Paris must close once more for at least four weeks, starting October 30, 2020. Here are the places currently closed.

Rooms in museums will once again be empty and see dust pile up. No one-on-one meeting with Mona Lisa, no more incredible discoveries at Centre Pompidou, at the Musée Cernuschi, the Petit Palais... Museums and monuments are heading once again to sleep while they wait for better days.

A very difficult situation for the cultural world, that was already struggling to recover from the first lockdown back in spring. We hope this new lockdown will not lead to the definitive closure of galleries and museums in France.

Selfishly, we also hope many institutions will be here to entertain us again during this new lockdown. Filling our days with digital exhibitions and podcasts about art would bring a bit of sun into the current gloominess. While we wait until we can go back and visit museums.
