From October 17 to November 25, 2024, during the All Saints' vacation and the month of November, discover Tropical Autumn. Drawing Botany: a lively and fantastic plant exhibition. Art and plants mingle and complement each other, offering us a truer-to-nature immersion in the midst of botanical species of surprising aesthetic appeal.
After transporting us to French Guiana, then to the discovery of colorful foliage, this fourth edition of Automne Tropical aims to further surprise the senses by revealing little-known and original plants. This year, the Jardin des Plantes invites the artist Agathe Haevermans for an innovative artistic journey.
The exhibition invites us to rediscover the art of botany, a discipline that combines knowledge of nature and drawing. Botanists are given pride of place: we admire species newly discovered by researchers, and learn more about the specific characteristics of these plants thanks to the artists' precise drawings. These works also recall the history of the natural sciences and the importance of art before the advent of photography and new technologies. In this dense, colorful tour, nature and drawing complement and embellish each other. Enthusiasts and amateurs alike are welcome to admire the beauty of nature, and discover its secrets and peculiarities.
This lively experience will delight the curious and plant lovers alike. If the experience makes you want to go green, there's also an ephemeral boutique where you can take a plant home as a souvenir of this enchanted stroll.
