The Louvre shines as bright as a diamond: the Galerie d’Apollon unveils some of the most exceptional clothes designed by Yves Saint Laurent. The great designer was fascinated by gold and light that reflect the sun so well. Both of them have been added to creations thought by Yves Saint Laurent.
The designer was also interested in decorative arts and pomp, as one can discover in the exhibition held in the Louvre gallery. Although the designer drew inspiration in all cultures and art movements, he does not compromise with the essential: the beauty of his collections also enables to shine a light on French artisans’ know-how!
Art objects, haute-couture pieces and accessories: the Louvre pays tribute to Yves Saint Laurent’s exceptional work that contributed to make of France a country admired for its style and luxury.
From his very first shows, Yves Saint Laurent managed to influence French fashion. Always renewing himself, he spent his career playing with conventions, shapes, colors, to provide always surprising and innovative collections.
