As a newimmigration bill is debated this year, French artist of Turkish origin Nil Yalter presents C'est un dur métier que l'exil (1977/2023), a collage of photographs, a quotation and video-recorded conversations with immigrant women and families from Portugal and Turkey. Like a recurring gesture, this collage has been produced in numerous public and artistic venues since its creation.
Afghanphotojournalist Abdul Saboor is a member of theAtelier des Artistes en Exil. In Calais, Dunkirk and Grande-Synthe, he went to lend a hand to migrants and document their daily lives. Camera in hand, he applies this documentary approach to the people he meets, getting to know them and making them feel at ease in front of the lens.
