A tribute exhibition dedicated to Annette Giacometti is on view at the Fondation Giacometti from July 11 to September 27, 2023. Annette Giacometti,Alberto Giacometti's female model and companion, played a particularly important role in the research and archives dedicated to the artist's memory. The Giacometti Foundation is celebrating two anniversaries this year: the centenary ofAnnette 's birth, and the 20th anniversary of the site.
"Annette en plus infiniment" features a wide selection of sculptures, paintings, photographs and other archives presented at the Foundation. The exhibition offers a fresh insight into the personalities of both figures, and the important role Annette played in the artist's life. While Alberto Giacometti regularly portrayed her in the same poses, the artist's styles - from realism to abstraction - and media were equally varied. Discover the evolution and history of this unconventional couple throughout this exhibition.
Founded in 2003, the Giacometti Foundation is a renowned cultural institution dedicated to the art and legacy of one of the 20th century's greatest sculptors, Alberto Giacometti. It was created to preserve, study and promote Giacometti's work, and to foster understanding of his creative process and his impact on modern art. In addition to preserving and exhibiting Giacometti's creations, the Foundation also conducts in-depth research into the artist and his times. It organizes temporary exhibitions, conferences and publications to promote understanding of his work and his contribution to art history.
