South Korea invites itself to Paris with a new free immersive exhibition! To discover it, head to the Korean Cultural Center located in the capital's 8th arrondissement, not far from the famous Champs-Elysées avenue. Until August 30, 2023, Parisians of all ages are invited to visit "At the heart of the wave". Yes, that's what this unusual and poetic exhibition is all about.
It takes us to South Korea, and more precisely to the city of Busan, the country's second largest after Seoul. We discover it through digital video-mapping works designed by two Korean graphic studios, d'strict and davvero art, and four artists of Korean origin: Kang Yiyun, Min Joonhong, Kohui and Hyun Jiwon. The result is an experience that's both soaring and Instagrammable, through an immersion that reveals Busan through the eyes of its various creators.
In all, six scenes follow one another. D'strict takes us first to the shores of Busan with "Aurora Beach", before Davvero Art takes over to illuminate the city with "Waves of Lights in Busan". Next, Kang Yiyun reveals the beauty of the city's nature and biodiversity with his work "No Mother Nature 3.0". With "Real Time Purgatory", artist Min Joonhong offers us an overview of Busan's harmony between city and natural landscapes. Kohui' s "Horizons" takes us out to sea, while Hyun Jiwon 's "The Harbour" takes us to the frontier between contemporary and traditional art, and tells the story of Busan's soul.
