The street-artist duo Ensemble Réel, composed of brothers Hugues and Medy, invite you to discover their world in a unique setting, the crypt of the Madeleine church. After Sax' s enchanting exhibition, it's the duo's turn to take over the premises from August 26 to September 3, 2023 for a free, immersive experience at the heart of urban art.
Growing up in Ris-Orangis with a father who was a sculptor and a mother with a passion for handicrafts, the two brothers were immersed in a rich and diverse cultural universe from an early age. Their passion for drawing and painting took a major turn when they discovered graffiti as teenagers. The duo Ensemble Réel was born in 2017 from the desire to create collective works, marking the harmony of their two worlds.
Their exhibition, " Fragments ", explores the complexity of life, its trials and triumphs, and the constant evolution of the individual. They use superimposed materials (plywood, plaster, cardboard...) to compose or decompose various subjects, leaving room for dialogue and sharing.
Ensemble Réel may be familiar to you from their participation in the Colors Festival and the Permis de démolir event. Their new exhibition at the Crypt de la Madeleine features 40 works, created four-handed, using a variety of techniques. You'll discover :

Life, trials, triumphs, resilience - these are the things that shape our being and our paths. " Fragments " illustrates this reality through urban artworks depicting a kaleidoscope of experiences and feelings. It's an artistic journey, an exploration of the human through the prism of urban art.
Their work on a variety of materials, from wood to paper, reveals a distinct style, a trademark that testifies to their technical mastery and artistic sensibility. Their use of superimposition, collage and engraving gives life to complex, nuanced works that catch the eye and invite reflection. But beyond the murals, interactivity is at the heart of the exhibition. Immersive installations invite the public to participate, to modulate, to enter into the works. It's a participatory experience that fosters a deeper connection between artist, work and viewer.
The exhibition is organized by Galerie Roussard, which offers us the opportunity to explore the world ofEnsemble Réel in the historic crypt of the Madeleine church. This encounter between contemporary art and a heritage site creates a unique atmosphere, an ideal setting for sublimating street art.
