An event created by fans, for fans... That's the promise of Fans of the Galaxy, the Star Wars universe exhibition returning to Paris from July 6 to September 8, 2024. And this time, it's at Electric Paris, in the 10th arrondissement, that the exhibition is taking place, offering visitors the chance to discover almost 600 objects paying tribute to the saga, created by fans and drawn from private collections.
These include spaceships, ATSTs and Pod Racers, as well as life-size statues of cult characters. There are also experiential spaces, allowing you to travel to the farthest reaches of the galaxy, on three planets emblematic of the space saga universe: Tatooine, the moon of Endor and Hoth.
In all, more than 20 one-of-a-kind sculptures and 40 years of passionate work are on display here, including armor, lightsabers, blasters, helmets, masks and more! And for the kids, there's also a Star Wars Lego area, where they can let their creativity run wild. It's a great way to create memories for all Star Wars fans. This summer, the Force will once again be with Parisians! Shall we drop in?
Our opinion
From handmade costumes and life-size statues to a complete collection of helmets and set reproductions, the Fans of the Galaxy exhibition is going all out! From the first films to the latest Disney+ productions, no part of the Star Wars universe is left out, and the collection is impressive. With a soundtrack that immerses us in George Lucas' galaxy, we set off to discover this patchwork of many different creations. A huge, life-size playground for all collectors and rare object enthusiasts.
What's more, as the majority of the characters are helmeted, their life-size statues bear little resemblance to those actually seen in the films. In fact, coming face-to-face with a larger-than-life Darth Vader underlines his terrifying, monumental aspect.
But what will appeal most to visitors are the set reproductions, as well as the enormous TR-TT, the highlight of the show, on which we'd love to climb. Nevertheless, while the exhibition is rich in content, the tour takes a little time, and the full price is a bit steep for a 20-30 minute visit (if you linger at all). And since the objects come from private collections, it's a shame we don't have the references of the objects on display. We would have liked to know the authors, and the circumstances of production of these works.
