To coincide with Maison & Objet, The Socialite Family has teamed up with Varenne to create a free, immersive exhibition in the heart of Paris. Named La Scopa, after the age-old Italian card game, the installation by the fashionable home furnishings brand will plunge you into the world of gaming in all its facets, from January 17 to 21, 2024.
Conceived by Constance Gennari, founder and artistic director of The Socialite Family, La Scopa transports you to a private mansion in the 7th arrondissement of Paris, transformed into a playground dedicated to decoration and mystery. The setting, lent by the luxury real estate agency, showcases the brand 's latest creations amid walls adorned with trompe-l'oeil, lush tapestries and heavy fabrics.
At the heart of this unusual, multi-faceted space, several visions unfold. The walls of the blind room resonate with clandestine parties, like ancient candlelit soirées. Farther on, the majestic staircase, adorned with a fresco by artist Frank Lebraly, invites us to a climb towards the unexpected. Here, the enfilade of carved woodwork, the latticed library and the beautiful magnolia terrace become the scene of a subtle interplay between ancient and modern, as pop creations by The Socialite Family intermingle with treasures unearthed at the Puces de Saint-Ouen.
The mystery continues upstairs, in the small neo-Moorish study, where every nook and cranny infuses a mystical atmosphere, then in the frescoed bathroom, where the furniture seems to await an elegant lady from a bygone era.
La Scopa invites you to lose yourself in the art of play, in this hybrid installation that conjures up memories of a bygone era alongsidetrendy furnishings and decorative objects. Come in, you're welcome! But beware of appearances...
