TheMani in alto exhibition is on show at Galerie Amarrage, base camp of theGraffart Association, 88 rue des Rosiers in Saint-Ouen. An iconic Graffiti & Street Art gallery at the Puces de Saint-Ouen, it presents the work of 3 artists, from February 23 to April 17, 2024.
It offers visitors a thought-provoking opportunity to explore and appreciate the extraordinary complexity and versatility of the human hand, and leads them to reflect on the use of hands as a form of expression to communicate our deepest essence. Graffart invites you to discover this immersive exhibition featuring collage by Softtwix and Nello Petrucci (organizer of the Pompei Festival), as well as graffiti by Steso Primo (discovered at the Graffiti & Street Art Awards). This exhibition is a tribute to all those who raise their hand to make urban art shine. Art that the Graffart association and Galerie Amarrage have been supporting for over 13 years.
In the early 2000s, his first works of art were based on collage, mainly using film posters, before moving on to experimental "halftone" techniques. He has exhibited his work in museums, galleries, embassies and other institutional sites in various countries around the world.
His roots and the influence of Pompeii's painting style are often evident in his work, which has made him one of the most respected street art artists of the moment. He is also known for his social commitment, using communicative imagery with direct and powerful symbolism to express his opinions and concerns on issues such as social justice, equality, diversity and the environment. His work continues to inspire and engage audiences worldwide, making him a leading figure on the contemporary art scene.
Trained as a photographer, Softtwix spent several years working in the fashion and advertising industries, notably in Paris, London and Milan, before settling in Paris as a photographer. Interested in street art for its accessible side in direct contact with passers-by, in 2014 she embarked on a project of urban installations. Photos, female faces on black backgrounds, are pasted on walls in the street, in wastelands or on construction sites in progress, taking a critical look at the aesthetic expectations our society projects onto women. For each of these installations, the artist pays particular attention to the choice of location, seeking the perfect interaction between work and context.
Street artist, originally from the city of the Popes, Avignon. Immersed in a dense cultural universe, attending shows at the Festival d'Avignon and other exhibitions from a very early age awakened in him a thirst for creation that remains intact and growing to this day... Faced with his artistic work, you could feel the emotions inherent in life... Don't necessarily look for a direct dialogue with figurative creations, but rather a spontaneous emotion through his colorful neo-abstract creations with post-graffiti influences. His creative strength lies in his ability to adapt to any place and any situation, transcending codes and language barriers...
This artist, whose work testifies to an explosion of colors and shapes, a strong sensitivity and a promising talent, asks us about the meaning of life in an increasingly troubled and frantic world.
