The Hôtel de la Marine presents an original exhibition in the style of a cabinet of curiosities. From October 3, 2024 to October 5, 2025, come and admire the exhibition La couleur parle toutes les langues.

TheHôtel de la Marine has drawn on the vast Al Thani collection to present treasures from all over the world, and from every era. The monument invites us to discover its exhibition La couleur parle toutes les langues, from October 3, 2024 to October 5, 2025.

The exhibition brings together a wide variety of pieces: 80 works are featured in this exhibition, whose theme - you guessed it - is color. These treasures come from five different continents, and date from the first millennium BC to the present day. To accentuate the exhibition's theme, the Hôtel de la Marine features an original scenography, in which the works are divided by color: blue, red, yellow, green, white and black.

With this exhibition, the Hôtel de la Marine and the Al Thani collection explore the use and meaning of colors in different civilizations. Depending on the era and the country, the uses and symbols can be very different!

With pieces from all over the world, the exhibition also takes on the air of a modern cabinet of curiosities or "chamber of wonders". These cabinets, dedicated to art and science, appeared in Europe during the Renaissance, and quickly became very popular. The Hôtel de la Marine nods to its previous exhibitions dedicated to Renaissance art.

Come and immerse yourself in this rainbow of paintings, sculptures, objets d'art, jewelry and exceptional works, by visiting the exhibition La couleur parle toutes les langues.
