Contes et Histoires 2024 in Paris: a creative and colorful Christmas at the Hôtel de la Marine

Contes et Histoires is the event imagined by the Centre des Monuments Nationaux to offer families an enriched program ofactivities and unusual tours for children, during the Christmas vacations. For this latest event, theHôtel de la Marine is inviting us to visit on weekends from December 21, 2023 to January 5, 2025. The monument, located on Place de la Concorde in the 8th arrondissement, has prepared a full program for visitors of all ages. Tours, storytelling, workshops, discoveries: there's plenty to keep you entertained over the Christmas vacations.

Through these activities, the Hôtel de la Marine reveals its rich history, lets us admire its collections ofworks of art and precious objects, and entertains us with playful workshops that will leave lasting memories with your little ones.

WORKSHOPS

• Mon petit lustre" workshop
  After a visit to the Mathieu Lustrerie art studio in the main courtyard of the Hôtel de la Marine, join the educational workshop to make your own miniature chandelier from glass beads.
  
• Greeting card" workshop
  Accompanied by their parents, children are invited to color a greeting card in watercolor with motifs from the Hôtel de la Marine, then take up a pen to learn about this 18th-century writing instrument.

GUIDED TOURS

• Storytelling visit "Le murmure des couleurs"
  Guided by storyteller Laure Urgin, discover with your family the stories behind the works on display in the Al Thani Collection at the Hôtel de la Marine for the exhibition La couleur parle toutes les langues. Selected works from the Al Thani Collection.

SHOWS

• Young audience show "Couleurs"
  Two characters take you and your family into a burlesque and poetic universe where color appears, like a blossoming of joy, hunger, anger and fear, like an ode to life.
  
  
• Christmas songs and music
  Experience the magic of Christmas with choirs from the Camille Saint-Saëns Conservatory.
  
  
• End-of-year ball
  The Hôtel de la Marine invites you to its end-of-year ball in the style of the Second Empire! The Carnet de Bals association takes over the main courtyard and state rooms for a ball worthy of the finest receptions held at the Hôtel de la Marine.
