Contes et Histoires 2024: activities based on La Fontaine's fables at the Domaine de Saint-Cloud

For the 2024 edition of Contes et Histoires des Monuments Nationaux, the Domaine de Saint-Cloud unveils a great program for families during the Christmas vacations. From December 21 to January 4, 2024, you'll discover several fun activities to celebrate Christmas in a different way, and to rediscover the history of this estate.

The Domaine de Saint-Cloud, located in the Hauts-de-Seine department, is an idyllic 460-hectare park, decorated with fountains, basins, sculptures and waterfalls. It once housed a mansion, a holiday residence for the royal and imperial families of France. The palace was destroyed in a terrible fire in 1870. Although the building has now disappeared, the landscaped gardens can still be admired.

It's in these lush green alleys that you can take part in the activities organized for the Contes et Histoires event. Each year, the estate offers a variety of unusual tours and shows, all linked to the history of the site.

During the 2024 Christmas vacations, we're offering activities and entertainment for the whole family! Please note, however, that reservations are essential. Don't miss these very special days, which allow us to spend some wonderful family time together during the vacations. And merry Christmas, of course!

• La délicieuse aventure du chocolat
  Show
  Come and discover a wonderful show at the Domaine National de Saint-Cloud. Marie-en-Toilette's favorite thing is simplicity: her chocolate with sugar and vanilla, accompanied by a delicious brioche! In her own way, Marie-en-Toilette tells us the story of chocolate, from its origins to the present day. But her memory fails, her words go off the rails... Could she be a chocolate addict?

• Sweet tooths and gourmet palates
  Festive event
  Come and spend a sweet afternoon at the Domaine National de Saint-Cloud. Over the course of the afternoon, you can listen to our storyteller Esmé Planchon's gourmet tales and take part in a workshop to make a sugar palace and take home a photographic souvenir.

• Cooking workshop: Christmas shortbread
  Workshop
  Come and bake at the Domaine National de Saint-Cloud. In this workshop, you'll prepare your own Christmas shortbread, decorate it as you wish and take it home to delight the whole family. Grab your aprons!
