Fancy an arty, dreamlike stroll? Head to Galleria Continua in the Marais district of Paris for an escapade throughEva Jospin'sfree, leafyexhibition, "Tromper l'oeil", on view until September 14, 2024! For the past fifteen years, this French artist, a graduate of the Beaux-Arts in Paris, has been making a name for herself with her astonishing cardboard sculptures. Her fairy-like fingers create landscapes like no other. And this year, Eva Jospin is not resting on her laurels: in addition to the gallery, she is also exhibiting at the Fortuny Museum in Venice and the Orangerie at the Château de Versailles!
Back to the 3rd arrondissement of Paris, where, on the second floor of Galleria Continua, her recent and unpublished works, created especially for the occasion, are on show. Eva explores her favorite themes through a variety of techniques, from forests and cardboard architectures to drawings, embroideries and bronzes, as well as a brand-new series. Inspired by fairy tales and mythology, she invites you to wander through woods and fossil forests, plunging into the heart of Renaissance gardens, nymphaeums and ancient caves.
His masterpiece, "le Promontoire", is a majestic cardboard sculpture, accompanied by a gazebo, a grotto and a labyrinth. Linked by an aqueduct and a bridge, these creations are an invitation to reverie. The drawings and large embroidery reveal preparatory versions of his monumental work lining the interior of the Orangerie at Versailles.
Why not take a stroll through Eva Jospin's imaginary land?
