Speedy Graphito: the street artist presents "La Grande Illusion" on Fluctuart, our photos

If you're a street art lover, then you're undoubtedly familiar with Speedy Graphito. A contemporary artist considered one of the pioneers of the street art movement in France since the early 80s, Speedy Graphito explores, hijacks and mixes art in all its forms. Proof of his renown, his work has been exhibited in galleries and museums the world over, in France of course, but also elsewhere in Europe and the United States. His last major exhibition was in 2021. That year, the contemporary artist unveiled some of his work at the Musée en Herbe during the event"Les Mondes imaginaires de Speedy Graphito".

This year, Fluctuart opens its doors to him for a brand-new exhibition, or rather an incredible " immersive optico-play experience ". To be seen free of charge from September 19 to December 22, 2024, the exhibition " La Grande Illusion " by Speedy Graphito has been created exceptionally for the Parisian floating art center. It's an opportunity to learn more about the artist's work and the works that tell the story of his life and work.

In his exhibition " La Grande Illusion " , the French urban artist takes us on an experimental journey, with a dozen of his works challenging the way we look at things. Our perception is turned upside down by images in all their forms: 8-bit pixels, arcade games from our childhood, recent paintings in volume, animated holographic images... Get ready for an experience at the heart of creation, thanks to the work of the insatiable explorer Speedy Graphito.

For most of the works presented on Fluctuart, Speedy Graphito invites us to play games, such as trying to find the great artists who make up a historical fresco. We're then led to find a phrase hidden in an image, or to unearth a herd of deer and hinds hiding on one of his canvases. And then there's the fascinating work entitled"La Grande Illusion", made from countless painted metal lids. Thanks to the telephone, all the details are revealed: a shark, Pikachu or Pac-man and a reference to René Magritte's"Le Fils de l'homme".
