In Nogent-sur-Seine, the Musée Camille Claudel has become a place where artistic expression is embodied, lives, evolves and renews itself all year round. Discover its program!

Opened in 2017 in the house where the sculptor spent her formative years, the Musée Camille Claudel is a vibrant tribute to one of the most talented sculptors of the 19th century. Rehabilitated by the town council, which has acquired a significant collection of works, the building is a perfect example of harmonious architecture blending history and modernity.

Among the museum's treasures are the sculpture "La Valse", a veritable ode to passion and dance, and "La Petite Châtelaine", which captures the innocence and vulnerability of a young girl. "L'Âge mûr", one of the artist's most poignant works, evokes pain and resignation in the face of the passage of time. The museum also features works by other artists of his time, such as Alfred Boucher and Auguste Rodin, highlighting the influences and collaborations that marked his career.

To bring this collection to life, the municipality has been hosting numerous events over the past 7 years, including major exhibitions, guided tours, shows, workshops adapted to different audiences, and even tasting tours. These proposals are constantly being rethought to enable everyone to get to know Camille Claudel's work better, to feel her emotions, to share a part of her intimacy, and also to better understand the context of her creation, the work of her masters and that of her peers!

Take advantage of this tour to visit the town and its monuments: the Saint-Laurent church, built in several stages in the 15th and 16th centuries, the Moulins (mills) dating back to 862 and rebuilt in 1908, the picturesque 16th-century timber-framed Henri IV pavilion, or the Île Olive and its generous arboretum.
