From the covered Déserts alley, a witness to the Neolithic period, to the international regatta competitions of the 19th century, via the medieval period marked by the influence of Notre-Dame Abbey, Argenteuil tells the story of its thousand-year history and its evolution, thanks to masterpieces and documents that are rarely displayed to the public, as they are often too precious or fragile. A unique opportunity to consult this exceptional Val-d'Oise heritage.
Visitors can admire King Louis XIV's letters patent, officially recording the creation of the Argenteuil hospital, as well as paintings and engravings by Impressionist painters such as Monet and Caillebotte, who drew inspiration for their work from the town and its banks of the Seine. It's off on a journey through time, but please note that the exhibition is only open on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and on Sundays from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.!
