An encounter with civilizations

With this exhibition, the China Cultural Center wishes to highlight the fascinating heritage of the Mogao Caves, an emblematic UNESCO World Heritage site located in Dunhuang, China. Also known as the "Caves of a Thousand Buddhas", these caves are a remarkable example of the interaction between Eastern and Western cultures. Situated at the heart of the Silk Road, the site is home to a collection of exceptional frescoes, statues and manuscripts that bear witness to the multiple influences that have shaped this region over the centuries.
Beyond the artistic aspect, the exhibition is a tribute to the intercultural and religious exchanges that have shaped Asia. Each object on display bears witness to the flow of ideas, religions and goods along this mythical route.
