Fête de la Science 2024 at Université Paris Nanterre: research close to our everyday lives

This Saturday, October 12, 2024, the Université Paris Nanterre will resound with children's laughter, existential questions and counter-intuitive answers during an afternoon of free entertainment. You're sure to leave with anecdotes that will amaze your friends and family, and a strong desire to come back next year!

The University of Paris Nanterre has a special feature: among other things, it is home to archaeological research, the study of human nature and nature... in a nutshell!

For the Fête de la Science 2024, with family or friends (from 6 to 122 years old), guided by researchers, come :

explore the Nanterre campus,
visit laboratories that are usually inaccessible
and try your hand at some surprisingly fun areas of research!

You can ask all your questions to passionate researchers:

For example:

archaeologists, historians, digital experts, philosophers, ethologists who study animal behavior, researchers in social psychology, master's students and PhD students who present their theses in just 5 minutes.

Fête de la Science is an event for chance discoveries

You'll be able to browse from one stand to the next and try out different workshops. In fact, some of the activities scheduled for Saturday afternoon 12 have already been announced!

Registration is recommended for certain events, but is optional (please arrive 5 minutes beforehand to take advantage of available places).

A rendezvous for all ages

For teens and adults, examples :

Fun circuit - PsyKoh'lanta
Initiation - study of body representations on social networks
Guided tour - campus birds
Meeting - Thesis experience: you'll understand their thesis in... 5 minutes! (and ask all your questions)

For primary school children, teenagers and adults, examples :

Workshop - archaeological survey and environmental archaeology
Digital stands - 3D printing, Wikipedia introduction, touch tables, science podcast bar...

PS: for the third year running, groups of children and teenagers from schools (CP to Terminale) and summer camps will be welcomed to take part in dedicated activities!
