The most Parisian of farms is located in the Bois de Vincennes, to the east of Paris, with a surface area of 5 hectares where animals are raised and crops grown. From the outset, the aim behind the farm was to raise awareness among the Parisian public of the challenges of sustainable food production: so the Ferme de Paris offers awareness-raising workshops, project support, training courses, exhibitions... Open to all. It's also the place to discover the traditional crops and livestock of the Île-de-France region, including eco-pastures, permaculture, urban agriculture and more.
At the Ferme de Paris, you'll find fruit trees, a vegetable garden, a garden of aromatic plants cultivated according to the principles of organic farming, animals... There's also a great program for young and old, with workshops, guided tours and seasonal events! For example, every year during the spring vacations, you can attend a sheep-shearing demonstration; in summer, you can watch the combine harvester go back and forth across the farm's fields; in autumn, you can marvel at the many varieties of squash grown at Ferme de Paris.
La Ferme de Paris regularly organizes workshops for the general public (i.e. families) and for teenagers and adults. To find out everything you need to know about your visit and take part in one of the workshops on offer, don't hesitate to check the monthly schedule regularly !
What's more, the Ferme de Paris is the perfect way to spend a day outdoors: free for all, it's a great idea for a low-cost outing with friends, family or agricultural enthusiasts!
