The Fête Médiévale de Dourdan, which welcomes more than 20,000 visitors every year, returns on Saturday May 31 and Sunday June 1, 2025 for two days of immersion in the heart of the Middle Ages.
To celebrate the 28th edition of the event, the town of Dourdan invites you to take a leap back in time to experience 48 hours in the Middle Ages, with shows, entertainment for children, period costumes... For the occasion, the Fête Médiévale invites singers, troubadours and dancers to take you to the heart of the traditions and customs of yesteryear.
Eagle-training shows, knight tournaments, traditional songs and dances: immerse yourself in the era when Dourdan's medieval castle was built, and discover the medieval village that has taken its place within the town. To blend in with the crowd, we strongly recommend that you come in costume.
In fact, during this major celebration, the town's market (traditionally held on Saturdays) is decked out in medieval colors, with a host of designer and artisan stalls. Ancestral know-how, centuries-old techniques... You'll learn all about the traditions of the Middle Ages! Ceramics, illuminations, model-building, glass-blowing and bookmaking await you.
A 100% medieval meal is also on the menu in the Halle, where you can discover what people used to eat in those days.
So get out your diary and get ready for the Fête médiévale de Dourdan on Saturday May 31 and Sunday June 1, 2025, all day long. Entry and participation in the shows and other events is entirely free and open to all. Happy medieval festival!
