Do you know Thoiry Zoo? Located 45 minutes from Paris, accessible by car or shuttle, Thoiry Zoo is the Zoo to do with your own car. The park is innovating with a walking tour and some very cool new activities, which are sure to please thrill-seekers.
Activities include a 1h30 behind-the-scenes tour of the Zoo in a safari shuttle, up close to the lions, bears and antelopes, a time-wasting maze, DinoZoore and a flight over the lions thanks to a zip-line unique in France. One minute in the air, hooked to life by a zip line. Two people take the plunge, ideal for couples or families, and enjoy the 500-metre descent to a height of 20 metres.
Zoo Domaine de Thoiry had promised us a surprise: the zip line is almost 500 meters long, and is divided into 2 for 2 descents for the price of one. Beware, the zip line is quite powerful and the sensations are unique. For the first run, you start from a height of 20 metres (easily accessible via a gently ascending path) and pass over 3 lions - a real thrill!
After 250 meters of descent, we stop on a large platform, greeted by a guide, and off we go again for the 2nd zip-line, above an artificial lake... We loved the experience, and you can watch our video.
Please note that while we were able to film the lions,the use of cell phones is forbidden for safety reasons (go and get your phone from the lions' den, you clever kids!). Open to everyone aged 8 and over, this experience is just incredible, and we recommend it!
