Fête de la Nature et de l'Europe à Moret-Loing-et-Orvanne 2024, a free weekend of festivities

For the 4th time, Moret-Loing-et-Orvanne takes part in the Fête de la Nature. On May 25 and 26, Moret-Loing-et-Orvanne celebrates not only nature, but also its European twinnings, with a weekend of activities and discoveries in the heart of Moret-sur-Loing. This event, which combines local festivities and cultural exchanges, is sure to please.

Moret-Loing-et-Orvanne, a charming commune in the Île-de-France region, is renowned for its historical and natural heritage. The Fête de la Nature is a major event here, inviting visitors to discover the local flora and fauna through a variety of activities. This year, the festival takes on a European dimension, celebrating twinning with the towns of Kilkenny (Ireland), Külsheim (Germany), Louny (Czech Republic) and Zschopau (Germany).

Festivities program

Over the two days, a wide range of activities will be on offer for young and old alike. Here's an overview of the activities planned:

Saturday, May 25

Downtown Moret-sur-Loing :

• Twin-town stands(10am - 6pm): Culinary and cultural tastings and exhibitions.
  • Kilkenny: Tasting of Irish specialities.
  • Külsheim: Sausages, beer, vegan products and wines.
  • Louny: Snacks and Czech beers.
  • Zschopau: "Strammer Max" and German beer.
• European dance and music show (11 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.): Cultural dance and music performances.
• Culinary demonstrations:
  • 11:30am - 1pm: Tasting of "Borschtsch" by Zschopau.
  • 1 p.m. - 2:30 p.m.: Tasting by Kilkenny chef Edward Hayden.

Jardin des Noues :

• Nature workshops (2pm - 6pm): Insect hunt, discovery of pond animals, workshops on bats and birds, flora and fauna quiz.

Other activities :

• Carnaval à vélo: Departure from Pré de Pins at 5pm.
• Concerts: Starting at 6:30pm, with a variety of musical performances.

• Discovery of llamas and donkeys (Champ de Mars): Walks and educational activities.
• Old-fashioned games (Jardin de la Mairie): Activities for the whole family.

• Canoe trip on the Loing: Discover Moret-sur-Loing from the river.
