For those undecided about where to eat the famous galette des rois, competitions are organized every year, rewarding the best almond galettes in each département of the Paris region.
After Greater Paris,Essonne, Yvelines and Val-d'Oise, it's time for Seine-et-Marne to take the honors. On December 4, the Maison de la boulangerie de Seine-et-Marne unveiled the results of the department's best almond galette 2025 . After touching, smelling and tasting the many participating galettes, the jury named the bakery A la Tentation in Brie-Comte-Robert the overall winner of the competition. It won first prize for the best almond galette in Seine-et-Marne for this year 2025, in the"Professionals" category.
In second place was the Au Duc de Claye bakery in Claye-Souilly. Douceau, based in Nangis, came third.
On the apprentice side, congratulations to Alicia Noel, who works at Suzy et Arlette's bakery in Fontainebleau, on her first place in the competition.
